Application and Eligibility Requirements
FPRA offers several membership levels outlined in the application form. In addition to professional, associate and retired memberships, FPRA welcomes students and allied members who have an interest in the public relations field but does not extend voting rights to these valued categories of membership.
All members must also pledge, if accepted, to abide by the FPRA Code of Ethics.
Applicants should be prepared to submit a current copy of their resume in addition to the required application form. Expect to hear back from a chapter board representative soon after submitting your application.

Professional Development
Professional development is paramount to FPRA. Through educational programs, seminars, workshops and print and electronic materials, members will gain professional knowledge, skills and abilities needed for career advancement.
Leadership Opportunities
Our chapter is ideally suited for new members to volunteer for leadership projects beyond the confines of the office. And unlike larger PR industry groups, you’ll have more opportunities to serve as a committee chair or board member at the chapter or state level.
Accreditation/Certification
FPRA offers a two-tier credentialing process for its members. The first tier, Accreditation in Public Relations, works in partnership with the Universal Accreditation Board and signifies a high level of competence and validates a PR professional’s commitment to the field. The second tier, Certified Public Relations Counselor, is available to FPRA members who already have the APR designation and at least 10 years of PR experience. Our chapter hosts prep sessions at no cost to members!
Annual Conference and Recognition
The annual conference is FPRA’s largest event of the year, and features nationally recognized speakers, networking opportunities and professional recognition through the Golden Image Award program. In addition to the statewide competition, chapters Local Image Award Programs providing PR practitioners an excellent platform to be recognized in their home markets for their outstanding public relations tools and programs.
Networking
Stumped on a project? Need an objective opinion? Searching for a printer who can work within your budget? When you join our chapter, you’ll join network of hundreds of PR professionals who are employed in all areas of PR including: government, healthcare, technology, tourism, public utilities, financial, education and non-profit agencies across the state.
Counselors’ Network
For senior level professionals, FPRA’s CN offers advanced educational opportunities and a chance to network with other top counselors and practitioners. A special track at Annual Conference allows CN members to interact with speakers in a small, intimate group setting.
