Board & Executive Services Manager, Southwest Florida Water Management District

The Southwest Florida Water Management District (District), a leader in protecting Florida’s water resources, is seeking a Board & Executive Services manager in support of the Communications & Board Services Bureau. The Board & Executive Services manager is the liaison to the District’s 13-member Governing Board and four advisory committees. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Board and advisory committee meetings, overseeing support services to the Executive Team and managing a team of six administrative professionals and video production engineers.

Essential Functions

Develops annual calendar of all meetings and enters the information into several email and web-based systems.

Ensures Governing Board meetings and other public meetings are legally noticed.

Plans and prepares meeting agendas and the monthly Governing Board book, including the monthly dashboard.

Coordinates monthly Governing Board and Senior Staff meetings as well as quarterly advisory committee meetings.

Ensures minutes are taken for all applicable meetings, provides outstanding customer service to the Board members and ensures Board member information is kept up to date.

Works with other bureaus and sections to facilitate the annual Cooperative Funding Initiative (CFI) meetings and the Springs Coast Steering and Management committee meetings.

Plays a key role in the District’s Knowledge Management effort by serving as the process steward for Governing Board Policies and Executive Director Procedures.

Provides strategic leadership for the Board & Executive Services section as well as performing daily management functions and overseeing the section budget.

Education Required

 

Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.

Bachelors or better in Public Relations or related field.

Experience

Required

5 years: Related work experience in Public Relations, Communications, Business or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)

Preferred

2 years: Experience in a supervisory or managerial role

Licenses & Certifications

Required

Driver’s License

Preferred

Florida Notary Public

Accreditation in PR (APR)
